Israel Electric Corporation collected NIS 5 billion unlawfully

The State Comptroller determined the Israel Electric Corporation unlawfully collected NIS 5 billion (roughly $1.4 billion) from the public.

According to the report, the Comptroller stated that during the years 2007-2009, the Electricity Authority acted against the law and without the necessary cabinet approval when allowing a rate increase, by which it overcharged the public NIS 5 billion. (Avital Lahav)
