Russia 'concerned' by 800 homes planned in east Jerusalem
Russia said Friday it was "very concerned" by Israel's plans to build 800 new housing units in east Jerusalem, after the Interior Ministry was gave the final green light for the construction of homes in the Gilo neighborhood.
"The Israeli construction creates additional obstacles to the resumption of negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians," Moscow said, adding that "all Israeli settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem are illegal under international law." (AFP)
