State comptroller: Parties breaking funding law
None
State Comptroller Yosef Shapira presented a report regarding Knesset party funding during the last Knesset term. The report stated several parties improperly spent funds and some even broke the law doing so.
The Likud party spent over NIS 50,000 (roughly $13,000) funding a dinner party held at Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's residence. The Labor Party hired two former Knesset members as consultants, paying them NIS 90,000 (roughly $ 23,500). (Telem Yahav)
