Syria opposition chief doubts truce can take hold

The leader of the main Syrian opposition group says chances are slim that a UN proposed truce for a Muslim holiday this week can take hold in Syria, partly because the plan is too vague.
The UN Arab League envoy to Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi, has proposed that both sides lay down their arms during Eid al-Adha, a four day holiday that begins Friday. (AP)
