Report suggests US knew of Sudan attack ahead of time
The US embassy in Sudan was shut down on Wednesday, the Al Hayat newspaper reports. Sources in Khartoum speculated that the embassy closing indicates that the US had prior knowledge of a strike on a weapons facility in the city, allegedly mounted by Israel.
Meanwhile, Egypt's foreign ministry said it opposes any attack that violates Sudan's sovereignty, and that it will cooperate with the authorities in Khartoum in the investigation into the strike. (Roi Kais)
