Report: CIA chief denies ties to 'Israeli attack' in Khartoum

Published: 10.29.12, 12:47 / Israel News

Local Sudanese newspaper "al-Intiba" reported Monday that CIA Director David Petraeus called the Sudanese deputy intelligence head Saleh A-Tayeb, shortly after the alleged Israeli attack on an arms factory in Khartoum. Petraeus clarified that the US did not have anything to do with the attack.

According to the report, the US tried to contact Sudan officials shortly after they blamed Israel for the attack, and denied reports claiming it had early knowledge of the operation or aiding Israel. (Roi Kais)
