The price of crude oil fluctuated around $85 a barrel Monday as investors remained cautious ahead of the US presidential election and estimated how far demand for oil has dropped in the storm-stricken US northeast.
By early afternoon in Europe, benchmark oil for December delivery was up 38 cents to $85.24 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Earlier in the session, the contract fell to $84.34, its lowest point since early July. (AP)
