US Congress likely to remain divided

None

Republicans lost a seat in the Senate on Tuesday with control of Congress at stake, as Democrats fought to retain the Senate.

Democrats now control the Senate 53-47, including two independents who caucus with them: Vermont's Sen. Bernie Sanders, who also has been re-elected, and retiring independent Sen. Joe Lieberman of Connecticut. Democratic congressman Chris Murphy won Lieberman's seat in Connecticut. (AP)
