Foreign Ministry: Abbas should be overthrown if PA recognized

The Foreign Ministry issued a formal policy paper stating that should the Palestinian Authority receive non-member state status at the United Nations the only viable option would be "to overthrow Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas."

The policy paper, drafted ahead of the Palestinian bid to the UN, said that "a soft response would be tantamount to an Israeli admission that it cannot handle the challenge." (Itamar Eichner)
