Obama to Morsi: Israel has right to defend itself
US President Barack Obama spoke to Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi about the escalation between Israel and Gaza. Obama condemned the Gaza rocket fire at Israel and reiterated to Morsi Israel's right to defend itself.
The White House said in a statement, "The two leaders agreed on the importance of working to de-escalate the situation as quickly as possible and agreed to stay in close touch in the days ahead." (Yitzhak Benhorin, Washington)
