Amir Peretz to Ynet: Morsi improved situation

MK Amir Peretz, former defense minister, said in Ynet's studio that the fact that Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood improves the situation for Israel in comparison to his predecessor, Hosni Mubarak.

According to Peretz the hostile relations between Mubarak and the Muslim Brotherhood compromised his relations with Hamas and hence his position as a mediator between the organization and Israel. Morsi, as a member of the Brotherhood, has the ability to confront Hamas, and tell them "you won't drag us into confrontation," according to Peretz. (Ynet)
