The London-based Arabic-language newspaper al-Hayat reported that a senior official of the Islamic Jihad said his group is interested in a lull, but stressed that any agreements between Israel and the Palestinians must include a mutual ceasefire, halt of targeted killings and eased passage at the border crossings to relieve the Palestinian suffering.
