Israeli swimmer Guy Barnea has won a silver medal in the men's 50-meter backstroke heat at the European Short Course Swimming Championships held in France.
Barnea stopped the clocks at 23.46 minutes, an improvement of one hundredth of a second from the Israeli record he set in the competition's semi-final. This is Israel's third medal in the championship, after Gal Nevo took home two bronze medals in the men's 200-meter and 400-meter individual medley heats. (Oren Aharoni)
