Women's groups contacted the chairpersons of all political parties on Sunday, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, and urged them to include in their platforms principles encouraging women's employment and financial advancement.
The list of principles on the letter sent by the organizations included a demand to raise minimum wage, and assuring proper representation of women. The letter read: "Promoting gender financial and employment equality is the foundation of a new public agenda. There is a tight link between sexual and physical violence against women and financial violence." (Omri Efraim)
