Egypt: Diplomats blast foreign minister over Morsi's power grab

Over 180 Egyptian diplomats have informed the country's foreign minister, Mohamed Kamel Amr, of their opposition to ministry directives that are meant to protect President Mohammed Morsi's move to assume near absolute powers.

"The revolution aimed to instate civil law, strengthen the values of democracy and rid state institutions of corruption," the diplomats wrote. "Going against these goals constitutes a betrayal of the revolution." (Roi Kais)
