A senior US official said on Monday that the Palestinian plan to appeal to the UN for an upgraded status on Thursday is neither wise, nor does it bring the Palestinians closer to realizing their independence.
According to the official, the US is pulling its weight against the bid by convincing as many states as possible to object to it. He further expressed concern that if the request is granted, the Palestinians will sue Israel in the International Court of Justice. (Itamar Eichner)
