Hamas, Jihad celebrate Barak's resignation from politics
Hamas and the Islamic Jihad celebrated Defense Minister Ehud Barak's annoucement that he is quitting public life. Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhum said: "This decision proves Barak's failure in heading Operation Pillar of Defense, and the failure of the government to meet its goals."
Islamic Jihad spokesman Abu Ahmad said that "By resigning Barak is admitting major defeat against our resistance and the tough blows we dealt to Tel Aviv." (Elior Levy)
