Germany to abstain on Palestinian UN bid

Germany informed Israel that it decided to abstain in the vote on the Palestinian bid to the UN to upgrade its status to that of a non-member observer state.
According to estimates, the Czech vote, previously expected to oppose the bid, will also probably abstain. At least 15 European countries will vote in favor of the bid and the rest will abstain. (Itamar Eichner)
