According to the Jordanian newspaper Al Ghad, Jordan's King Abdullah will visit Ramallah on Thursday and hold a meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. This is the first official visit of an Arab leader since the Palestinians succeeded in upgrading their UN status to a non-member observer state.
Palestinian ambassador to Jordan Atta Khairy said that the visit sends a strong message to Israel regarding Jordan's full support of the Palestinian people and their rights. (Yonatan Gonen)
