Deserter: Syria will use chemical weapons as last resort
Abed a-Salam Abed a-Razuk, an officer who deserted the Syrian Army's chemical warfare unit, told the London based newspaper Al-Sharq al-Awsat that Bashar Assad's regime would use chemical weapons as a last resort.
Deputy Chief of Staff for the Free Syrian Army, Colonel Arif al-Hamoud told the paper that chemical weapon stockpiles are one of the rebel forces' main targets. He promised they would disarm them if and when they are captured. (Roi Kais)
