Independence party drops out of Knesset race

Published: 12.06.12, 21:23 / Israel News

The Independence party will not contend in the upcoming elections for the 19th Knesset. A statement issued by the party said it is not fitting to spend taxpayer's money on a campaign that might not result in a meaningful pay-off.

In addition, Industry, Trade and Labor Minister Shalom Simhon (Independence) retired from politics, saying he preferred to stay loyal to his party members than fix himself a job. He added that he feels honored for the time he spent in service of the Israeli public. (Roi Mandel)
