According to the results of 2011's TIMSS and PIRLS international education tests, Israeli school-children have dramatically improved their standing, with 4th graders improving moving up 13 places in language-skills to the 18th spot.
In the TIMSS test for sciences, 8th graders jumped from the 25th to the 13th place. In math, students achieved higher marks as well, bumping Israel to the 7th place, a 17 spot improvment. Nonetheless, all the tests showed there was a very large gap between Jewish and Arab students. (Shahar Chai)
