China objects imposing sanctions on North Korea over rocket launch

China signaled reluctance to join the international call for harsh sanctions against North Korea, following its rocket launch on Wednesday.

Chinese media reported that China's statement was meant as a preventive measure for further deterioration of the tension in the region. (AFP)
