AG: Eizenkot nomination essential due to security challenges
Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein has rejected a petition against Major-General Gadi Eizenkot's appointment as IDF deputy chief of staff, saying that the appointment cannot be postponed.

Weinstein wrote he reached this conclusion after being briefed by IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz and Defense Minister Ehud Barak over the security situation. The decision was made due to "sensitive and complex security challenges" including the situation in Syria, he said.  (Aviel Magnezi)
