US petition demands Obama to act on gun control

A petition calling on Obama to press Congress for tighter restrictions on gun ownership has garnered more than 145,000 signatures after being posted to the White House's "We the People" web site.
The petition came after Obama said that "meaningful action" is needed in the wake of the Sandy Hook shooting, but failed to elaborate. (News Agencies)
