Syrian UN peacekeepers to receive chemical weapon protection kits

The United Nations is providing its Syrian Golan Height peace keeping mission with kits to protect them from chemical weapons that could be used in the escalating Syrian conflict, a UN official told Al Arabiya on Monday.

The decision came in the wake of Syrian ambassador to the United Nations Bashar al-Jaafari's comments to the Security Council that opposition fighters could use chemical weapons only to blame the act on the Syrian government. (Ynet)
