The Knesset's Finance Committee has disapproved the government's request for a vertical budget cut to the 2012 budget at a scope of NIS 750 million (approx. $200 million). MK Moshe Gafni (United Torah Judaism) was the first committee member present at the deliberation. He said he is unwilling to approve the cuts on the eve of the elections.
Gafni recommended that the vote be postponed at least until next week in order to provide the government an extension to get sufficiently organized for the vote. (Zvi Lavi)
