UN condemns Iran for human rights violations

The United Nations General Assembly condemned Iran for recurrent human rights violations in the Islamic Republic. Iran's UN ambassador said that his country is not violating human rights and claimed that the United States and Canada are exerting political pressure and that Iran will not succumb.

 

In the UN vote, 86 countries were for condemning Iran, 32 against and 65 countries abstained. (AFP)
