Report: US, Russia agreed on end to Assad's rule

Russia and the US have reached an agreement regarding the resignation of Syrian President Bashar Assad, sources within the Syrian National Coalition were quoted as saying by the London-based Arabic newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat. The report has not been confirmed by other sources.

According to the Syrian National Coalition sources, one possibility stated in the agreement is that Assad will take part in the transfer of power and enjoy international protection, while the other is that negotiations on the transfer of power will be held without him. (Roi Kais)
