A 6-year-old girl from Afghanistan is recovering at a Long Island hospital after undergoing surgery on her face to repair damage done by a Taliban bullet.
Newsday reports that the child, named Marizeh, held a toy unicorn and blew kisses as a nurse carried her past well-wishers before her surgery Friday at South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside, New York. The girl's father and 3-year-old brother died when their car was attacked by Taliban fighters. (AP)
