Police to compensate right-wing activist for illegal arrest

Jerusalem's Small Claims Court has ruled that right-wing activist Itamar Ben Gvir be compensated for being arrested during an anti Shalit deal protest at the Sharon Prison, a year ago. During the protest, the police asked Ben Gvir to sign that he will not protest again outside the prison and upon refusing, was arrested.

The court determined that this was an illegal arrest and ruled that the police pay Ben Gvir NIS 7,000 (about $1,900) in compensation. (Noam Dvir)
