Report: Assad security detail beefed up
Syrian media outlets have reported that President Bashar Assad's security detail has recently been reinforced amid growing fears that an attempt will be made on his life. According to the reports, Assad no longer sleeps in his bedroom in the palace and has begun changing sleeping locations daily.
Additionally, fearing an assassination with poison, it was reported that the ingredients for his meals are no longer purchased in the same place and that one of his bodyguards is now charged with tasting the president's food some two hours prior to his meals. (Elior Levy)
