Yiddish thrives around the world

Belgian city of Antwerp is one of main places where language spoken by Jews of Eastern Europe is still used and studied

VIDEO – Along with Jerusalem and New York, Antwerp is one of the main places where Yiddish is still used and studied.

 

JewishNewsOne visited the University of Antwerp's Institute of Jewish Studies to find out more.

With its constant use in the Hasidic community, and the fact that it's being studied in the universities of the world, the hope is that Yiddish will remain a living language and continue to be used.
