US State Dept. official says Assad must step down
The London-based newspaper al-Hayyat quoted a senior US State Department official as saying that the only option on the table regarding Syria is that President Bashar Assad and his surrounding mafia step down.
In a small meeting with journalists in London, the official negated the option of Assad moving to Latakia to create an Alawite state. (Roi Kais)
