Top Syrian intelligence officer defects, joins rebels
Arab media outlets have reported that Jumaa Farraj Jassem, a senior foreign intelligence official, announced in a video posted online that he is defecting from Assad's forces and joining the rebels.
In the video Jassem said that he is joining "the ranks of (the) blessed revolution," against Assad's "criminal regime." He called on those currently working for the regime to follow in his footsteps. (Roi Kais)
