Shas' spiritual leader Rabbi Ovadia Yosef slammed Habayit Hayehudi party and said: "This is the goy house! For goys! They want to uproot the Torah, have civil marriages and public transportation on the Sabbath. Are they even religious?"
In response, Habayit Hayehudi party said it respects "the spiritual leader of many Israelis," and added that "the aim of Habayit Hayehudi is to form a bridge between different parts of society. We'll continue to do so, and if we are assaulted by all parties that only shows we're on the right path." (Moran Azulay)
