Iraqi protester tries to set himself on fire

A demonstrator tried to set himself on fire in the north of Iraq Sunday in what is thought to be the first attempted self-immolation since anti-government rallies erupted a month ago.
The man, identified by police and hospital officials as Talal Ali Abbas, ignited himself in a central square in Mosul where protesters have been rallying for weeks. They say other protesters quickly put the blaze out by smothering the flames with their coats. (AP)
