Barak confirms appointment of new GOC Southern Command head
The IDF spokesperson has announced that Defense Minister Ehud Barak confirmed General Staff appointments according to decisions made by IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz. GOC Southern Command Major-General Tal Russo will be replaced by Shlomo (Sami) Turgeman. Russo is expected to leave the IDF after 35 years of service.
The new GOC Army Headquarters commander will be Brigadier General Guy Tzur. (Yoav Zitun)
