"Eight weeks ago we embarked on a new path. I couldn’t see the country headed down the path it was going. I've returned (to politics) to stay."

Hatnua, she said, will use its time in the 19th Knesset to bolster the Center-Left bloc. "Now it's all up to us and our ability to work with our political rivals.

"We have to put these rivalries aside. Forget the campaign and the mutual slandering," she said. "We have to think of the future.

"We will complete the mission we have taken upon ourselves – to make Israel a better country."
