Report: Syrian rebels occupy base near Damascus airport

Sky News in Arabic reported Sunday morning that the Free Syria Army has taken over a Syrian army communications base near the Damascus International Airport.

At the same time, the newspaper Asharq al-Awsat reported that rebel forces fighting in Damascus' suburbs have fired on Saturday at the presidential palace in northwest Damascus and toward an army airport. The report wasn't confirmed by other sources. (Roi Kais)
