Balad opts out of PM endorsement; 'more legitimate than Lapid'

The Balad faction met with President Shimon Peres in Jerusalem and told him the party has chosen not to endorse anyone to form the next government. Balad MK Jamal Zahalka said "Balad is more legitimate than Yair Lapid who represents something light and Tel Avivian, while (Balad) represents human rights and liberalism."

Thus, they joined Livni's Hatnua, the Labor party, Meretz and Hadash in choosing not to endorse any candidate for prime minister. (Noam Dvir)
