Iran FM: Talks with Syrian opposition could stop bloodshed

Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said talks with the Syrian opposition leader at the Munich could contribute to finding a solution to the war in Syria.

Salehi said Syrian National Coalition leader Moaz Alkhatib's comment that he would be willing to talk with representatives of the Syrian government if prisoners were released represented "a good step forward". "If we want to stop the bloodshed we cannot continue putting the blame one side on the other," Salehi said, adding that he was ready to talk with opposition again and be "part of the solution".
