Obama: We will stand steadfast with Israel

US President Barack Obama announced plans to withdraw more troops from Afghanistan and take steps to boost the fragile US economy as he delivered a closely watched State of the Union address Tuesday laying out his priorities for the year and for his newly begun second term in office.

Referring to his upcoming visit to the Middle East, Obama said: "We will stand steadfast with Israel in pursuit of security and a lasting peace." (AP)
