US State Department: John Kerry will not meet Assad

The US State Department spokesperson said that reports that State Secretary John Kerry intends to meet President Bashar Assad in Damascus are untrue.

The spokesperson called the rumors insane, adding that Kerry has no intentions of visiting Damascus until the Syrian people are on their way to a free and democratic state. (Yitzhak Benhorin, Washington)
