Undercover Border Guard officers succeeded in foiling a smuggling attempt from Egypt into Israel, capturing 250 kg of contraband hashish estimated to be worth more than a million shekels.
The officers noticed two suspicious people near the border fence. The two attempted to escape in their vehicle and run the officers over during their flight. A chase ensued, resulting in the arrest of one of the suspects, a Bedouin from an unrecognized village in his 20s. (Ilana Curiel and Omri Efraim)
