EU urges Israel to respect Palestinians' rights
EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton urged Israel Saturday to respect its international obligations in the field of human rights, in the wake of violent protests in the West Bank in solidarity with Palestinian prisoners in hunger strike.
"The EU urges the Israeli government to allow the immediate restoration of the (Palestinians') right of access to their families and demand full compliance with international human rights with regard to all Palestinian detainees and prisoners," Ashton stated. (AP)
