Quake hits rural area south of Rome

A strong earthquake has rocked a rural area about 80 kilometers (50 miles) southeast of Rome, but authorities say reports from residents indicate no damage or injuries.

Italy's National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology said the quake struck about 10:20 pm (2120 GMT) Saturday and had a 4.8 magnitude. (AP)
