US urges Israel, PA to exercise maximum restraint

Deputy State Department spokesman Patrick Ventrell has called on Israel and the Palestinians to exercise maximum restraint given the tense situation in the West Bank.
He added that the US administration is aware that Israel is carefully looking into the circumstances behind the death of Palestinian prisoner Arafat Jaradat. "We expect all parties to consider the results of the autopsy calmly and without inflammatory rhetoric," Ventell said. (Yitzhak Benhorin, Washington)
