Egyptian official: Mubarak allowed Iranian arms into Lebanon

Ahmed Abu al-Ghayt, who served as Egyptian foreign minister during Hosni Mubarak's regime, claimed Tuesday that at the time, Egypt was informed of a weapons shipment from Iran to Lebanon through the Suez Canal, but did not prevent it.

According to him, Egypt did not stop the shipment "because reinforcing Israel's enemy served the Egyptian interests." (Roi Kais)
