Barak: Comprehensive peace deal with Palestinians impossible
Defense Minister Ehud Barak said that a comprehensive peace deal with the Palestinians is virtually impossible. Speaking at an AIPAC conference in Washington he recommended reaching an interim deal which will safeguard Israel's security and failing that, he said Israel should take unilateral steps.
He added that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has taken bold steps which did not prompt a proper response from the Palestinians. (Yitzhak Benhorin, Washington)
